#NewMusicFriday: Louis Tomlinson Releases Debut Single, “Back to You”

The moment all of you Louis Tomlinson and/or One Direction fans have been waiting for has finally arrived! The former 1D member has released his debut single, “Back to You” – and it’s a BOP!

“Back to You” is a heavily electronic-influenced song that lyrically focuses on an on-again, off-again relationship. The track features Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals.

After releasing his collaboration “Just Hold On” with DJ/producer Steve Aoki back in December, Tomlinson came back strong with the first single off his upcoming debut studio album. Did we mention that he co-wrote the song with British DJ/producer Digital Farm Animals? With lyrics like “I love it, I hate it, and I can’t take it – but I keep on coming back to you”, the song depicts a story that we’re sure many people can relate to.

With Bebe Rexha being featured on the track, it’s as though we’re listening to both sides of this on-again, off-again love story; additionally, her vocals contribute a unique element that the song would not be able to showcase otherwise.

In addition to the release of “Back to You” on major music streaming services and stores, Tomlinson also debuted the music video for the track on VEVO.

The music video features sequences of Tomlinson and Rexha’s separate perspectives in various locations. The plot-line accurately interprets the idea of a relationship with “that one person that no matter how hard you try, you keep coming back to” – words from Tomlinson himself.
